Sentencing scheduled on assault charge
SYDNEY — A Glace Bay man is to be sentenced in April after pleading guilty Monday to a reduced charge of assault.
Bryan Stephen Murphy, 35, was facing two counts of assault and single counts of mischief and sexual assault.
The offences were to have occurred last August in Glace Bay.
Murphy was scheduled to stand trial Monday on the charges but instead the sexual assault charge was reduced to assault to which Murphy pleaded guilty.
He also agreed to sign a peace bond on the remaining charges.
Sentencing is now set for April 13.
