David Stephen Poulette, 67, of 365 Cas­tle Bay Road, Eska­soni, passed away peace­fully on Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 13, 2017 at home sur­rounded by his fam­ily.

Born in Syd­ney, he was the son of the late Stephen and Ann Made­line (Syl­li­boy) Poulette.

He was a mem­ber of Holy Fam­ily Par­ish, Eska­soni. David was a champion horse­shoe com­peti­tor, loved to go fish­ing and made many Christ­mas wreaths over the years. He worked at Crane Cove Seafood’s and was a fish­er­man most of his life. He dab­bled with mu­sic play­ing the gui­tar with his brothers and friends. Bingo was a big part of David’s pas­times.

He is sur­vived by his wife, the for­mer Mil­dred Gould; daugh­ters, Char­lotte Anne, Clau­dia ( Joey), Mag ( Duma), Cheryl (Danny), Amanda, Melissa (Stu­art), Irene (Myles), El­iz­a­beth Rose, Mar­i­anna, all of Eska­soni; sons, Alphonse (An­nie), Brad, Cur­tis (Shae­lene), Kevin (Ja­sine), all of Eska­soni; Wil­fred ‘Jr.’ (Olivia), Why­co­co­magh, David Jr. (Stacey), Eska­soni; sis­ters, Rosie and Nancy, both of Eska­soni; Martha, Truro; brothers, Ben­jamin (Brid­gette), Levi and Howard, all of Eska­soni and May­nard (Gina), Why­co­co­magh. Also sur­viv­ing are 38 grand­chil­dren, 13 great grand­chil­dren, 3 god­chil­dren Cindy, Molly and Valerie and by nu­mer­ous nieces and neph­ews.

David was pre­de­ceased by his first wife, Jean Cather­ine (Mar­shall), his son Bu­ford ‘B.J.’; daugh­ter, San­dra, 3 grand­chil­dren Thomas Ryan, Ken­dra and Sienna; brothers, Char­lie, Fran­cis, Wal­ter and sis­ter, Betty.

Vis­i­ta­tion for Mr. Poulette will be­gin after 7 p.m. in the fam­ily res­i­dence at 365 Cas­tle Bay Road, Eska­soni on Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 20, 2017. Fu­neral Mass will be cel­e­brated at 10:30 a.m. on Wed­nes­day, Fe­bru­ary 22 at Holy Fam­ily Church with Rev. Martin MacDougall of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment in the par­ish ceme­tery, Eska­soni.
