MABOU — It came down to the last card.

But after more than a year of slowly building up past the six-figure mark, the Mabou Chase the Ace jackpot has finally been won.

Millie Odo, from nearby Inverness, took home a cheque for $127,337 after her ticket was picked in the game’s final draw that was held Saturday in Mabou. The game, which raised money for Mabou Minor Hockey and the Mabou Arena, was hosted at three venues on Saturday with ticket sales, bar service and live entertainment offered at the Mabou Hall, the Mabou Fire Hall and the Dalbrae Academy.

While the jackpot is considered large, it pales in comparison to those of recent games in Inverness ($1.77 million), Sydney ($2.9 million) and North Sydney ($1.67 million).
