Police nab man suspected of robbing gas station
SYDNEY — A 20-year-old man is facing a number of charges in connection with an armed robbery at a Sydney gas station.
According to the Cape Breton Regional Police Service, Tre Damian Timmons has been charged with robbery, wearing a disguise with intent, dangerous use of a weapon, uttering threats, and assault with a weapon.
The incident happened at about 6:45 a.m. on Saturday when an armed man allegedly entered the Sobeys/Needs gas and convenience store at the corner of Prince and Inglis streets.
Police say there were no injuries during the robbery although a large knife and cash register were discovered a short distance from the store by a police K-9 unit.
Timmons has been remanded to the Cape Breton Correction Centre and was scheduled to appear in Sydney provincial court today.
