It is with deep sad­ness that we an­nounce the pass­ing of Min­nie Frances ( Tully) MacDon­ald, 87, Syd­ney Mines, on Sun­day, Fe­bru­ary 19, 2017, at Har­bour­stone En­hanced Care, Syd­ney River, sur­rounded by her fam­ily and lov­ing hus­band.

Born in Syd­ney Mines on Fe­bru­ary 2, 1930, she was the daugh­ter of the late Am­brose and Florence (Fraser) Gouthro. She lived her life with pas­sion and pur­pose, demon­strat­ing great care to those she loved-both fam­ily and friends.

Frances (Tully) cel­e­brated life to the fullest and al­ways took the time to do the things she loved-danc­ing, Bingo, card games, trav­el­ling, en­joy­ing mu­sic, and watch­ing her favourite base­ball team ‘The Toronto Blue Jays’.

Left to mourn is her lov­ing hus­band, James Colin MacDon­ald; her chil­dren, Peter (Florence), Terry (Nicole), Timmy (Ber­na­dine), Tricia, and James (Stephen). Also left to mourn are her grand­chil­dren, Sherry, Jimmy, Michael, Tara, An­drew, Jacqueline, Claire and Devyn, along with great-grand­chil­dren, Ash­ton, Eric, Natalya, Blake, Shay, Atya, Layla and Philipe, as well as brothers, Stan (Rose) and Alfie.

Be­sides her par­ents, she was pre­de­ceased by her daugh­ter, Donna Marie in in­fancy; sib­lings, Peter, Stella, Ed­die and Rita and her half-sis­ters, Jenny and Mar­garet.

Our sin­cer­est grat­i­tude goes out to the staff at the Went­worth Fa­cil­ity at Har­bour­stone for all the years of ex­cel­lent care and sup­port they pro­vided, es­pe­cially dur­ing her fi­nal hours.

There will be no vis­i­ta­tion. Cre­ma­tion has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held on Thurs­day, Fe­bru­ary 23, 2017, at 10 a.m. in Holy Fam­ily Church, with Fr. James Oliver of­fi­ci­at­ing. Words of com­fort may be for­warded to her fam­ily at www.jmjobesfu­ner­al­
