It is with great sad­ness that we an­nounce the pass­ing of Phyl­lis Oram, 93, on Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 18, 2017, at Har­bour­stone Nurs­ing Home, Syd­ney.

Born in Syd­ney Mines on Au­gust 10, 1923, she was the daugh­ter of the late John Mal­colm and Euphemia (MacDougall) MacDon­ald. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Oram Sr.

Phyl­lis worked in re­tail in ear­lier years, was a great friend to many, sto­ry­teller, and a won­der­ful baker and cook. She was also a great shop­per, keep­ing her­self in all the styles of the day.

Phyl­lis was a lov­ing mother to her son, Joseph (Linda) and her spe­cial daugh­ter, Nancy (late James) Cad­well. She was also grand­mother to, Lorne Oram, Carol Ann (Dave), Jimmy Cad­well, Wendy (Dave), Rus­sell (Les­lie) and Anita (Hec­tor). She is also sur­vived by sis­ter, Is­abella Gunn, Monc­ton, NB; sis­ter-in-law, An­nie MacDon­ald; nieces, Joanne, Mau­reen, Karenkay, Mer­ri­beth and Mary Eve­lyn and nephew, Corey. She so en­joyed her vis­its from greatgrand­chil­dren, Jes­sica Oram and Mar­ley El­lis.

Be­sides her par­ents and hus­band, she was pre­de­ceased by her sis­ters, Sarah (Sally) and Mary, and a brother, John.

We would like to thank Dr. Eu­gene Ig­na­cio, Dr. Hall of Syd­ney, the won­der­ful nurs­ing staff of Fish­er­man’s Cove, and other dis­ci­plines at Har­bour­stone. We wish to ac­knowl­edge Ge­orge and Robin Wil­liams, Nancy, Carol Anne and Chrissie for their faith­ful vis­its. Thank you also to the staff of Jobes Funeral Home.

There will be no vis­i­ta­tion. Cre­ma­tion has taken place and a com­mit­tal ser­vice will be held at a later date.
