Syd­ney rob­bery ac­cused to have bail hear­ing

SYD­NEY — A Syd­ney man charged in con­nec­tion with a week­end rob­bery is sched­uled to re­turn to pro­vin­cial court to­day for a bail hear­ing.

Tre Damian Tim­mons, 20, of Union Street, is charged with pos­ses­sion of a weapon dan­ger­ous to pub­lic peace (a large kitchen knife), ut­ter­ing a threat, wear­ing a dis­guise in com­mit­ting an of­fence, as­sault with a weapon and rob­bery.

The charges were filed in con­nec­tion with a holdup Satur­day at Sobey’s Fast Fu­els on the cor­ner of Prince and Inglis Streets in Syd­ney. Ac­cord­ing to Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Po­lice, a lone man en­tered the store at around 6:45 a.m. Satur­day and fled with the cash reg­is­ter which was dis­cov­ered a short dis­tance from the store along with a knife.
