We re­gret to an­nounce the pass­ing of our mother Diane (Trapp) Gilfoy, on Thurs­day, Fe­bru­ary 16, 2017 at the Cape Breton Re­gional Hospi­tal, Syd­ney, with her fam­ily by her side.

Born in Glace Bay she was the daugh­ter of the late Henry and Christina (McLean) Trapp.

Diane was a mem­ber of Homeville Wo­man’s In­sti­tute and had a great love for Bingo, Elvis, Dol­lar Stores, Knit­ting and Crafts. She also en­joyed serv­ing at Teas, Ben­e­fits, Coun­try Mar­kets in Port Morien and spend­ing time with her grand­chil­dren.

She is sur­vived by sons, Bradley (Leah) of ON and Ray­mond (Kim) of Homeville; daugh­ters, Mary Rose (Chris) of Donkin and Cathy of Glace Bay; brothers, Jimmy (Brenda) and Steve (Sylvia), all of Glace Bay; sis­ters, San­dra (Tony), Barb Mac­In­tyre (Char­lie), all of Glace Bay, Joan Yensen and Glo­ria Forbes, all of BC; grand­chil­dren, Christo­pher, Sean, Aaron, Jes­sica, Bethany, Brandi and Heather and many nieces and neph­ews.

Be­sides her par­ents Diane was pre­de­ceased by her brother, Henry Trapp; sis­ter, Mary Mor­ri­son and spe­cial friend, Phyl­lis Peach.

Cre­ma­tion has taken place un­der the di­rec­tion of T.J. Tracey Funeral Home, 370 Re­serve St., Glace Bay 902-849-4199.

A celebration of Diane’s life will take please at a later date.
