Trial date set for Lunen­burg County man on sex of­fence

SYD­NEY — A Supreme Court trial date has been set for a Lunen­burg County man fac­ing a sex of­fence.

Don Ash­ley John­son, 29, is charged with sex­ual as­sault with a weapon and un­law­ful con­fine­ment.

The of­fences are al­leged to have oc­curred May 19, 2016, in Eska­soni. John­son, a res­i­dent of Gold River, has elected to be tried by Supreme Court judge alone and will now stand trial be­gin­ning Feb. 26, 2018.

He con­tin­ues his re­lease on con­di­tions.
