ROSS, Aubrey Mathe­son

It is with re­gret and sad­ness that we the fam­ily of Aubrey Ross (90) an­nounce his pass­ing at the Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Hos­pi­tal, Fri­day, Fe­bru­ary 24. He was the son of the late Frank and Cather­ine Mae (Mathe­son) Ross.

In his younger years he was a cook on the Yan­kee and was known to en­joy bak­ing for fam­ily and friends. He worked for a num­ber of years at MacFar­lane’s Garage in Bad­deck and later for the Nova Scotia Liquor Com­mis­sion, from where he re­tired. He was a mem­ber of the Free Wheel­ers, a proud Lib­eral and an avid har­ness horse rac­ing fan.

Aubrey is sur­vived by his son, Wil­liam (Claire MacLean) Bad­deck; his grand­chil­dren, Justin, Glacé Bay and Meaghan (Mark Spears) New Mary­land, NB. He is also sur­vived by his great grand­son, Connell Spears and his sis­ter, Mar­ion Mathe­son (Al­lis­ter) Blues Mills.

Be­side his par­ents Aubrey was pre­de­ceased by his wife, Mar­garet (MacLeod), June, 1997; two sis­ters, Eve­lyn Ross and Pearl MacDon­ald and a brother, John.

His re­mains have been cre­mated and there will be no visi­ta­tion by re­quest.

The funeral will take place at Knox Pres­by­te­rian Church, Thurs­day, March 2, 2017 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Brain MacLeod Of­fi­ci­at­ing.
