Plea date set on multiple offences
SYDNEY — A 30-year-old Sydney man was released from custody Thursday after agreeing to abide by a host of conditions.
Kenneth Hugh MacMullin of Gatacre Street is charged with two counts of theft and a count of mischief that is alleged to have occurred April 23.
The charges involve a smashed vehicle window along with theft of paperwork from the same vehicle.
The charges also allege a theft from a Sydney convenience store.
MacMullin is also facing charges of break and enter involving the provincial liquor store outlet in Louisbourg, possession of stolen property (liquor), obstruction of a police officer, assaulting a police officer, impaired driving and refusing a breathalyzer demand.
The offences are alleged to have occurred in the early morning hours of April 24.
MacMullin is also facing several offences under the Motor Vehicle Act for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, registration, inspection and a driver’s licence.
Among the conditions of his release, MacMullin is to refrain from alcohol and all drugs not prescribed to him by a physician and is not allowed to possess any weapons.
He is to return to provincial court May 18 to enter pleas.
