Plea date set on mul­ti­ple of­fences

SYD­NEY — A 30-year-old Syd­ney man was re­leased from cus­tody Thurs­day af­ter agree­ing to abide by a host of con­di­tions.

Ken­neth Hugh MacMullin of Gat­acre Street is charged with two counts of theft and a count of mis­chief that is al­leged to have oc­curred April 23.

The charges in­volve a smashed ve­hi­cle win­dow along with theft of pa­per­work from the same ve­hi­cle.

The charges also al­lege a theft from a Syd­ney con­ve­nience store.

MacMullin is also fac­ing charges of break and en­ter in­volv­ing the provin­cial liquor store out­let in Louis­bourg, pos­ses­sion of stolen prop­erty (liquor), ob­struc­tion of a po­lice of­fi­cer, as­sault­ing a po­lice of­fi­cer, im­paired driv­ing and re­fus­ing a breath­a­lyzer de­mand.

The of­fences are al­leged to have oc­curred in the early morn­ing hours of April 24.

MacMullin is also fac­ing sev­eral of­fences un­der the Mo­tor Ve­hi­cle Act for op­er­at­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle with­out in­sur­ance, reg­is­tra­tion, in­spec­tion and a driver’s li­cence.

Among the con­di­tions of his re­lease, MacMullin is to re­frain from al­co­hol and all drugs not pre­scribed to him by a physi­cian and is not al­lowed to pos­sess any weapons.

He is to re­turn to provin­cial court May 18 to en­ter pleas.
