New date to be set for sen­tenc­ing

SYDNEY — A Mem­ber­tou man is to re­turn to court May 8 to set a date for sen­tenc­ing. Charles Joseph Young, 21, has pleaded guilty to charges of at­tempted theft in­volv­ing a mo­tor­cy­cle along with ag­gra­vated as­sault, us­ing a firearm, a .22-cal­i­bre ri­fle, in com­mit­ting an of­fence and breach­ing a court or­der.

The of­fences oc­curred in Sydney on Sept. 26, 2014 and April 2, 2016.

Young has yet en­ter to en­ter pleas on six counts of breach­ing court or­ders which are al­leged to have oc­curred April 3 in Sydney. The breaches allege he failed to keep the peace, at­tend court, main­tain his court-or­dered res­i­dence, abide by a cur­few and re­port to po­lice as re­quired.

Young con­tin­ues to be on re­mand.
