Congratulations to Cape Breton hockey team

Cape Breton Post - - Editorial -

To all the fans and followers of the Cape Breton West Islanders major midget hockey team, we, the committee members of the 2017 TELUS Cup just completed in Prince George B.C., would like to extend our sincere congratulations on your win.

As co-chair of the event I watched every game as well as the individual players, coaches, staff and your followers’ actions, emotions and conduct while at the event or around town.

You guys were the best!

As players and bench staff, you were the friendliest and most appreciated of the tournament.

As far as your friends, family and supporters in the stands went – we loved you all.

I have never had the pleasure of giving championship hats to a more emotional bench. You brought tears of joy to our eyes as well as certainly to yours.

The players will hold a special bond forever whether they go on with their hockey careers or start a new phase of their lives.

They are the proud possessors of the first ever TELUS Cup championship rings made here in Prince George by Michaels Jewelers, a local custom designer. Wear them with pride!

We trust you have left Prince George with life-long memories and, perhaps, new friends or the desire to visit us again someday.

Again, congratulations to all involved. John Morrison
