Information session on Atlantic Memorial Park
NORTH SYDNEY — The board of directors for the proposed Atlantic Memorial Park will host a community presentation as well as a question and answer session.
The presentation will take place at the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion in Sydney on Thursday, May 11 at 7 p.m. The recommended site consists of about 120 acres of publicly owned land in Sydney Mines.
Along with a commemorative monument dedicated to the Battle of Vimy Ridge, the site would highlight Canadian military contributions, the history of the military, mining and steel. It would also include a First Nations replica encampment, a family park and beach and restored military fortifications.
