KING, Edward (Ned)
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing, on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, of our father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Edward ‘Ned’ King.
Born on May 17, 1930 in Birch Grove, he was the son of the late Michael Knight and Mary Louise (Snow) King.
Edward will be sadly missed by his wife, Gladys of 65 years on April 26,2017; daughter, Lynn; son, Michael Edward (Darlene); grandsons, Bruce (Dawn) Dearing, Jason Boutilier and Michael King Jr; granddaughters, Krystal King (Shane) and Carlynne Boutilier; great grandchildren, Kiera, Brody Dearing and Lexie Boutilier and sister, Laura Hayes.
Edward was predeceased by his parents; four brothers, Albert, William, Robert and Elmer; four sisters, Hazel Hiscock, Julia Westcott, Dorothy Reid and Mary Boone.
Edward returned home to Cape Breton after working twenty five years in the automotive industry for Acme Screw and Gear in Toronto, Ont. He retired in Birch Grove where he worked in his garden and garage.
In respect with Edward’s wishes Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
Our family wishes to express a sincere thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Port Hawkesbury Guest Home, Northside Community Guest Home, Victoria Haven and the Glace Bay Hospital, Dr. Kent Cadegan and Brenda MacDonald.
