It is with great sad­ness we an­nounce the death of our fa­ther and grand­fa­ther Camil­lius Fran­cis Alex, 79 of Eska­soni.

Born July 10, 1937 in Barra Head, Chapel Is­land, he was the son of the late Pu’tus Isaac and Es­ther (Paul) Alex.

He was a mem­ber of the Holy Fam­ily par­ish. His faith was strong and loved his pa­tron Saint, Saint Ann. He en­joyed shar­ing his tra­di­tional and cul­tural knowl­edge with fam­ily and friends. He was an avid sto­ry­teller and trea­sured the vis­its with his fam­ily and friends. Camil­lius was a tra­di­tional Christ­mas wreath maker and en­joyed fish­ing with his late friend Wal­ter Poulette. In ear­lier years he worked in con­struc­tion.

He is sur­vived by four sons, Dou­glas (Jackie) and Ge­orge, Rod­ney (Joanne) and Camil­lius Jr. He cher­ished and loved all eight of his grand­chil­dren, Jus­tine, Court­ney and Kyle, Lib­bie, Abby and Maria, He­len Theresa and Leanne. He had one god­son he loved dearly, Pauljij Fran­cis. Also sur­vived by many nieces and nephew.

Camil­lius was pre­de­ceased by his wife, Annie Jane Alex; his son, John Ed­ward Alex; one grand­child, Ni­c­hole; two sis­ters, Jane ‘Bon­nie’ Alex, Annie Marie Alex and two broth­ers, Ge­orge Alex and Vic­tor (Pu’tus) Alex.

The Alex fam­ily wants to ex­tend a heart­felt thank you to all the searchers for sup­port­ing us dur­ing the search of our fa­ther, grand­fa­ther and un­cle, your love and kind­ness will never be for­got­ten. You have all have be­come our ex­tended fam­ily.

Visi­ta­tion for Mr. Alex will be­gin after 7 p.m. on Satur­day, May 6 at the Gabriel Cen­ter, Eska­soni. Fu­neral Mass will be cel­e­brated at 10:30 a.m. on Mon­day, May 8 at Holy Fam­ily Church with Fr. Martin MacDougall of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment in Holy Fam­ily par­ish ceme­tery.
