It is with bro­ken hearts that we, her fam­ily an­nounce the sud­den pass­ing of Me­gan Danielle Dugas.

Me­gan was born in Syd­ney on Fe­bru­ary 20, 1987. She was a beloved daugh­ter, grand­daugh­ter, niece, cousin, mother and friend. Me­gan flew from this earth on Thurs­day, May 4, 2017 to heaven and into the lov­ing arms of her sis­ter, Leah Dawn.

Me­gan is sur­vived by her de­voted par­ents, Marylee and Dar­ren Dugas and her beau­ti­ful chil­dren, Emily Dawn and Brody, the lights of her life.

Me­gan at­tended Florence El­e­men­tary, TL Sul­li­van and Me­mo­rial High School. Me­gan worked as a Con­tin­u­ing Care Worker. Me­gan played bas­ket­ball and base­ball with love and en­thu­si­asm. Me­gan’s heart of gold made her a friend to ev­ery­one and loved by all who knew her. Her beau­ti­ful smile lit up our world.

Me­gan is also sur­vived by her grand­moth­ers, Lav­ina For­rest and Mary Dugas (Winkie); her large and lov­ing fam­ily of aunts and un­cles, Cathy Ann(Paul), John(Lisa), Dar­lene(Sandy), Ar­lene(Johnny), Brenda, Karen(El­don), Tommy(Con­nie), Melinda(Steven), Kevin(Tracey), Tracy(Scott), Shane(Les­ley), Dar­lene(Allen) and Cindy(Den­nis); her “spe­cial brother,” Chris Os­mond; and all her cousins who were her first friends and her best friends.

Me­gan was pre­de­ceased by her only sis­ter, Leah Dawn and her grand­fa­thers, John Charles For­rest and Free­man Dugas.

Visi­ta­tion will take place from 2-4 & 7-9 on Mon­day, May 8, 2017 at Fill­more & Whit­man Fu­neral Home, 10 Clyde Ave., Syd­ney Mines.

A fu­neral ser­vice will be held at 1p.m. on Tues­day, May 9 at St. An­drew’s Pres­by­te­rian Church with Rev. Marion Bar­clayMacKay of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment to fol­low in Brook­side Ceme­tery.
