Hu­bert Thomas ‘Tommy’ Williams, 84, of Neil’s Har­bour, passed away, Sunday, April 30, 2017 in the Coronary Care Unit at Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Hos­pi­tal, Syd­ney Nova Sco­tia.

Born in Neil’s Har­bour, he was the son of the late Hu­bert and Alice (Strick­land) Williams.

Tommy man­aged the Co­op­er­a­tors store in Neil’s Har­bour for 25 years and re­tired in 1992. Tommy loved life and telling stories about the history of Neil’s Har­bour and Cape Bre­ton Is­land. He was full of dev­il­ment and tom­fool­ery, crack­ing jokes and singing his own “made up” funny tunes and jin­gles that made us all laugh.

Tommy is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife of 59 years, Lor­raine (MacKin­non) Williams; sons, Hu­bert (Chris­tine) Williams, Jude Williams, Tony (Tracey) Williams; daugh­ters, Vir­ginia (Kenny) Dowl­ing, Phyl­lis (Tony) Williams, Amanda (Anas) Williams; grand­daugh­ter, Gil­lian (Amine), Marissa, Chelsey, Tessa; grand­sons, Kevin, Josh, Paul, Con­nor; great-grand­daugh­ter, Haya Outa Bachi; great-grand­sons, Thomas McKin­non and Louay Outa Bachi; son-in-law, Blair Blun­don, and a spe­cial per­son, John Cun­ning­ham to whom he thought of as his son, and nu­mer­ous cousins and nieces and neph­ews.

Tommy was pre­de­ceased by his daugh­ter, Wil­lena (Williams) Blun­don; fa­ther, Hu­bert Williams; mother, Alice (Strick­land); broth­ers, John, Wil­bert, Owen and Ste­wart; sis­ters, Dorothy, El­iz­a­beth, Ellen, Phyl­lis, Marion, and Shirley.

A Cel­e­bra­tion of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Mon­day 8, 2017 of May at the St Joseph’s Church in Ding­wall, Cape Bre­ton.
