Beloved hus­band, fa­ther and grand­fa­ther Gene Chais­son passed away on May 7, 2017 sur­rounded by his griev­ing fam­ily at his home in Wood­bridge, Vir­ginia.

He was born in Hal­i­fax, Nova Sco­tia on June 7, 1933 to Marie (Healy) Chais­son Mur­phy and Alexan­der Lawrence Chais­son.

Ed­u­cated in Hal­i­fax Catholic schools and Nova Sco­tia Col­lege of Phar­macy he en­listed in the U.S. Air Force (USAF) in 1957, where he rose to the rank of Mas­ter Sergeant be­fore re­tir­ing af­ter 21 years of dis­tin­guished ser­vice. Gene also served one tour of duty in Viet Nam from 1972-1973 for which he re­ceived both an Air Medal and the Bronze Star.

Mar­ried to Anne (King) Chais­son of Syd­ney Mines, Cape Bre­ton since 1958, they lived in lo­ca­tions all over the U.S. Gene and Anne also served two tours of duty over­seas when Anne worked at the U.S Em­bassies in Riyadh, Saudi Ara­bia and Sin­ga­pore from 1987-1991.

He is sur­vived by his wife of 58 years, Anne; son, Robert Chais­son; beloved daugh­ter, Karen Chais­son; two fab­u­lous grand­chil­dren, An­thony Feiner; his very spe­cial princess, Bri­ana (Feiner) Meraz; and a grand son-in-law, Max Meraz.

A private burial will be held on Thurs­day May 11, 2017 at Quan­tico Na­tional Ceme­tery in Vir­ginia.
