Cambridge Suites general manager named hotel chain’s best of the year
The general manager of the Cambridge Suites hotel in Sydney has been named general manager of the year for the chain.
Michele Bianchini was honoured with the award at the recent Atlific Hotels annual meeting held in Montreal. Bianchini received the award with her peers from more than 60 Canadian hotels looking on.
“This award represents everyone on our team,” Bianchini said in a news release. “Every team member plays a role in our success.”
Bianchini said the award represents the hard work, dedication and tourism hospitality that Cape Bretoners are known for and how a team from a medium-sized hotel on the East Coast can rise to the top when competing against much larger brand-name hotels located in some of Canada’s major centres.
The Cambridge Suites hotel in Sydney employs more than 60 people, many of whom are long-term employees.
Atlific Hotels has more than 55 years experience owning and managing brands and independent hotels.
Although Bianchini has been at the Cambridge Suites Hotel in Sydney for 28 years, Atlific Hotels only acquired the Cambridge Suites Hotel four years ago through a change of ownership.
Michele Bianchini, centre, receives the general manager of the year award from Atlific Hotels CEO Robert Chartrand, left, and senior vice-president operations Philippe Gadbois at the Atlific national conference in Montreal.
