CBRM, CBU TO HOST PILOT
The Cape Breton Regional Municipality and Cape Breton University are partnering on a youth multisport program. The program includes seven sports held in 21 sessions over seven weeks that lets kids in both Primary and Grade 1 take part in rugby, track and field, skating, soccer, basketball, swimming and tennis. Each session is facilitated by recreation program co-ordinators and delivered by community sport organizations. Registration will be held Friday at the Centennial Arena in Sydney from 5-7 p.m. The cost is $200, and all abilities are welcome. A maximum of 60 participants — 30 for each age group — will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Sessions begin Sunday with rugby and run until the first week of July.
