CBRM, CBU TO HOST PI­LOT

The Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Mu­nic­i­pal­ity and Cape Bre­ton Univer­sity are part­ner­ing on a youth mul­ti­sport pro­gram. The pro­gram in­cludes seven sports held in 21 ses­sions over seven weeks that lets kids in both Pri­mary and Grade 1 take part in rugby, track and field, skat­ing, soc­cer, bas­ket­ball, swim­ming and ten­nis. Each ses­sion is fa­cil­i­tated by recre­ation pro­gram co-or­di­na­tors and de­liv­ered by com­mu­nity sport or­ga­ni­za­tions. Reg­is­tra­tion will be held Fri­day at the Cen­ten­nial Arena in Syd­ney from 5-7 p.m. The cost is $200, and all abil­i­ties are wel­come. A max­i­mum of 60 par­tic­i­pants — 30 for each age group — will be ac­cepted on a first come, first served ba­sis. Ses­sions be­gin Sun­day with rugby and run un­til the first week of July.
