Syd­ney man fac­ing drug charges

SYD­NEY — Drugs, pep­per spray and stolen prop­erty were seized when a 49-year-old man was ar­rested on In­goville Street on Fri­day.

The Cape Breton Re­gional and the RCMP ar­rested the Syd­ney man af­ter search war­rant was ex­e­cuted and po­lice seized hy­dro­mor­phone tablets, pep­per spray, stolen prop­erty and drug para­pher­na­lia. The ac­cused has been re­manded to the Cape Breton Cor­rec­tional Cen­tre and will ap­pear in Syd­ney pro­vin­cial court to­day.

He’ll face charges that in­clude pos­ses­sion for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing in hy­dro­mor­phone, pos­ses­sion of an unau­tho­rized weapon (pep­per spray), two counts of pos­ses­sion of stolen prop­erty, four counts of breach­ing a re­cog­ni­zance or­der and one count of breach­ing a pro­ba­tion or­der.
