An­nual ser­vice cel­e­brates Gaelic Month

BOULARDERIE — The pub­lic is in­vited to join the con­gre­ga­tion of St. James Pres­by­te­rian Church, Boularderie, to cel­e­brate Gaelic Chris­tian her­itage Sun­day, May 28, 3 p.m.

The min­is­ter in charge of St. James’ Church, Rev. Peter MacDon­ald, will be preach­ing.

He is the son of the late Rev. Glenn MacDon­ald, who min­is­tered for many years on the North Shore. Since this ser­vice was be­gun in 2009, it has been the prac­tice to al­ter­nate be­tween Catholic and Protes­tant churches and preach­ers, be­gin­ning with Rev. Alan MacMil­lan, St. An­drew’s Ro­man Catholic Par­ish, Judique, Cape Breton. On two oc­ca­sions, St. James has hosted in­vited clergy from Scot­land.

The Gaelic Ec­u­meni­cal Choir, formed es­pe­cially for Gaelic ser­vices, will be tak­ing part in the ser­vice. In ad­di­tion, the Mira Gaelic Choir will pro­vide mu­sic.

Af­ter the ser­vice there will be a time of fel­low­ship with re­fresh­ments.
