Annual service celebrates Gaelic Month
BOULARDERIE — The public is invited to join the congregation of St. James Presbyterian Church, Boularderie, to celebrate Gaelic Christian heritage Sunday, May 28, 3 p.m.
The minister in charge of St. James’ Church, Rev. Peter MacDonald, will be preaching.
He is the son of the late Rev. Glenn MacDonald, who ministered for many years on the North Shore. Since this service was begun in 2009, it has been the practice to alternate between Catholic and Protestant churches and preachers, beginning with Rev. Alan MacMillan, St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Parish, Judique, Cape Breton. On two occasions, St. James has hosted invited clergy from Scotland.
The Gaelic Ecumenical Choir, formed especially for Gaelic services, will be taking part in the service. In addition, the Mira Gaelic Choir will provide music.
After the service there will be a time of fellowship with refreshments.
