Sydney man facing additional drug charge
SYDNEY — A Sydney man is back behind bars after breaching the conditions of his release on drug charges by again selling drugs. Robert Francis Bennett, 49, and a female co-accused were charged April 3 with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking involving cocaine, marijuana and hydromorphone.
The offences are alleged to have occurred at a residence on Ingoville Street in Sydney. Both were released on conditions and are to enter pleas June 8.
Bennett was again charged May 12 with possession for the purpose of trafficking in hydromorphone after police searched a home on Ingoville.
He is also charged with possession of an unauthorized weapon (pepper spray), two counts of possession of stolen property and five counts of breaching court orders. Among his previous release conditions, Bennett was ordered to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
He is scheduled back in court today.
