Sarah El­iz­a­beth Coombs, 86 of Egan Av­enue, South Bar passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at the Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Hospi­tal, Syd­ney.

Born in New Water­ford, she was the daugh­ter of the late John and Mary Ellen (MacIn­nis) Haw­ley. She worked at St. Rita’s Hospi­tal (ICU) as a Ward Clerk, un­til her re­tire­ment. She was an avid bingo player, and en­joyed her weekly out­ings with Shel­don and Barb.

A de­voted and beloved mother, grand­mother, great grand­mother and aunt. She is sur­vived by her only son and best friend, Shel­don; daugh­ter-in-law and best friend, Bar­bara, Syd­ney; the pride and joy of her life, her grand­chil­dren and great-grand­chil­dren, Kim­berly, Carla, Melisa, Ryan, Ni­cole, Kyle and Brit­tany; great grand­chil­dren, Bran­don, Si­enna, Melia, Ethan, Jude and Eli. She is also sur­vived by so many spe­cial nieces and neph­ews.

She was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Clif­ford and daugh­ter, Theresa Marie; broth­ers, Matthew, Jackie and Hughie, and only sis­ter, An­nie.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be held in Chant’s Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra Street, Thursday 12-2 p.m. with funeral ser­vice to follow at 2 p.m., with Rev. Shel­don Chant of­fi­ci­at­ing.

Mom was so very much loved by all her family and all those whom had the priv­i­lege to meet her.
