With sadness, we, the family of Gary Brian Braunmiller, regret to announce his passing on Monday, May 15, 2017.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Alphonse and Catherine (Archibald) Braunmiller.
Gary is survived by his daughters, Kathy (Victor Tomie) Braunmiller, East Bay and Tracey (Jason) Warren, Elmsdale; sons, Trevor (Cindy), Albert Bridge and Kevin (Stephanie), Sydney River; grandchildren, Michael Brian and Ella Beverly; sister, Marie (Larry) Davidson, Dartmouth; brother, Joe, Sydney; loving companion, Phyllis Rideout, Bras d’Or; mother-in-law, Ida Jackson, Ingonish; godson, Brett Jackson, Ingonish; as well as his large extended Jackson family, to whom he was very close.
Gary was predeceased by his wife, Beverly (Jackson) and sister-in-law, Connie Braunmiller.
Gary enjoyed working ‘on the road’ as sales manager of Ideal Foods and then alongside his son, Trevor, at their business, Breton Foods. He also enjoyed travelling and spending time at home with family and his two cats, Ripley and Riley. Gary always liked a good laugh and had a special way with words.
A funeral service will be held at Bethel Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating. Interment will take place in Ingonish.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
