The New Water­ford Celtics won their third straight Mini Coal Bowl ti­tle at Green­field Ele­men­tary School in River Ryan last Satur­day. The Celtics de­feated the Riverview Sonic Red 61-41 in the cham­pi­onship game. Celtics for­ward Eric Rut­ledge was named the tour­na­ment’s most valu­able player, while Derek Loro, also of the Celtics, was given the Jonathan Syms Me­mo­rial Hus­tle Award. In other ac­tion, in the di­vi­sion ‘B’ cham­pi­onship game, the North­side Ma­raud­ers 1 beat the New Water­ford Magic. Score re­sults were not avail­able for that game.
