COLONELS, COWARD TO BE INDUCTED
The 1987 national champion Glace Bay Colonels will be the first ever youth team inducted into the Maritime Sport Hall of Fame on June 14 in Bedford. They’ll be joined by baseball player Curtis Coward, originally of Sydney who later moved to Halifax. Coward was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals and played with the Calgary Cardinals of the Pioneer league in 197879 before playing for the Saint Mary’s Huskies men’s basketball team. He’s also an accomplished coach.
