MACSWEEN, William ‘Bill’ Martin
It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Bill MacSween, announce his passing on May 20, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney on September 26, 1934, he was the son of the late James and Barbara (LeVatte) MacSween.
Bill is survived by sisters, Carol Kornetz and Anne (Bert) Savage; daughter, Christine; son, Jamie, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Betty; brother, Ronnie, and brothers-in-law, Steve Kornetz and Bill Smith.
Bill retired as an engineer in the Canadian Army in 1961.
Bill was very active with Branch 12 Legion, serving as Sergeant at Arms and Club 55. Bill also spent many years with the Bill Lynch Shows and was known as “Skeeball Bill”. He also enjoyed playing darts, woodworking and loved being outdoors, fishing and hiking.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017, 4 to 7 p.m. at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney with a service to follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
