MACSWEEN, Wil­liam ‘Bill’ Martin

It is with heavy hearts that we, the fam­ily of Bill MacSween, an­nounce his pass­ing on May 20, 2017 at the Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Hos­pi­tal, Syd­ney.

Born in Syd­ney on Septem­ber 26, 1934, he was the son of the late James and Bar­bara (LeVatte) MacSween.

Bill is sur­vived by sis­ters, Carol Kor­netz and Anne (Bert) Sav­age; daugh­ter, Chris­tine; son, Jamie, and many nieces and neph­ews.

Be­sides his par­ents, he was pre­de­ceased by his sis­ter, Betty; brother, Ron­nie, and broth­ers-in-law, Steve Kor­netz and Bill Smith.

Bill re­tired as an en­gi­neer in the Cana­dian Army in 1961.

Bill was very ac­tive with Branch 12 Le­gion, serv­ing as Sergeant at Arms and Club 55. Bill also spent many years with the Bill Lynch Shows and was known as “Skee­ball Bill”. He also en­joyed play­ing darts, wood­work­ing and loved be­ing out­doors, fish­ing and hik­ing.

Cre­ma­tion has taken place. Visi­ta­tion will be held Wednes­day, May 24, 2017, 4 to 7 p.m. at the SW Chant & Son Fu­neral Home, 564 Alexan­dra St., Syd­ney with a ser­vice to fol­low at 7 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Shel­don Chant of­fi­ci­at­ing.
