It is with heavy hearts that we, the fam­ily of Ger­aldeen Elaine Collins (nee But­ler), an­nounce her pass­ing on Mon­day, May 15, 2017.

For over 40 years, Ger­aldeen en­joyed her nurs­ing ca­reer at the Bay Med­i­cal Clinic and the Heavy Wa­ter Plant, as well as trav­el­ing through­out Cape Bre­ton as an En­teros­tomal Ther­a­pist. Ger­aldeen and Harold en­joyed vis­it­ing many lo­ca­tions around the world when she at­tended the E.T. World Con­fer­ences.

Ger­aldeen is sur­vived by her two chil­dren, daugh­ter, Linda, Hal­i­fax and son, Eli “Al” (San­dra), Dart­mouth; grand­chil­dren, Jen­nifer and Jonathan and their mother, Donna; great-grand­chil­dren, Yas­mina and Layla; brother, Karl (Lois); sis­ters, Eleanor and Velma; brother-in-law, James “Jimmy” Collins; nieces; neph­ews and many friends, es­pe­cially those in Cape Bre­ton and the Nether­lands.

She was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Harold and sis­ters, Noreen and Phyl­lis.

A cel­e­bra­tion of her life will be held at Syd­ney Memo­rial Chapel on Thurs­day, May 25, 2017 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. In­ter­ment will take place at For­est Haven Memo­rial Gar­dens on Fri­day, May 26 at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Dana Felt­mate of­fi­ci­at­ing.
