It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Joe MacLeod on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Victoria Haven Nursing Home after a courageous battle with diabetes. He was born in New Waterford on November 10, 1947, the son of Mary Agnes MacLeod and her husband Thomas Chiasson, and was the loving husband of the late Kathleen (Kay) MacNeil of Gardiner Mines.

Joe will be sadly missed by his loving daughter, Tracy and son, Edward (Kim); sisters, Annette (Ronnie), Irene (Brian), Mary (Dave) and Shelley (Janine); brothers, Davy (Donna), Marven, Eddy and Louie (Sharon); sister-in-law, Lorraine Lewis (late Gerald Lewis); brother-inlaw, Finlay MacNeil and wife Verna, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joe was predeceased by daughter, Sharon and son, Darrell; brother, Danny, and biological father, Frank House.

He was dearly loved and raised by James and Mary (Perfect) MacLeod, and cherished by many aunts and uncles. Joe had a very special place in his heart for his grandchildren, Breton, Edward, James, Jolene and Jessy, and great-grandchild, Ciara. He enjoyed his time spent with his good friend, Ruth Whalen, who card for Joe dearly.

He had many friends and interests, he enjoyed playing pool and darts, loved to spend time at the pensioners club. Joe was an avid walker and would be seen all over town by many. He loved to talk about the wonderful memories he had from his past. He had a strong belief in his faith that helped him on his journey home.
