Sydney accused released on conditions
SYDNEY — A Sydney man, facing a drug offence, was released from custody Thursday on conditions.
Francis John Abbass, 60, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in marijuana.
The offence is alleged to have occurred in Sydney on March 6. Among the conditions of his release, Abbass is to live on Brookland Street in Sydney and refrain from alcohol and all drugs not prescribed him by a physician.
He is also to report, in person, once a week to Cape Breton Regional Police and is not allowed to possess a cellphone. He is also to abide by a curfew.
He is to return to court June 19 to enter a plea.
