Sentencing set for Glace Bay woman in fraud case
SYDNEY — A 50-year-old Glace Bay woman will be sentenced in July after pleading guilty Monday to a charge of fraud over $5,000.
Linda Brunet of Athlone Street pleaded guilty to defrauding National Money Mart of a total of $32,400 between August and September 2015. Brunet filed multiple loan applications by using a host of names. Brunet was facing some 25 counts of fraud but the other charges were dismissed.
She had previously elected to be tried in Supreme Court but later reelected to provincial court and was assigned a trial date for July. Sentencing is now set for July 5.
