WADDEN, DawnMarie Mary (Ardelli)
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of DawnMarie Wadden, 49, on May 26, 2017, due to a lengthy illness.
DawnMarie of Sydney River had a deep and profound love for the Lord. Her faith was strong and it brought her through many times. She was a member of St. Mary’s Polish Church in Sydney and was very proud when they rebuilt.
DawnMarie loved people and it showed in her kindness and generosity towards people and animals. She was always there with a listening ear and would happily help in any way she could. DawnMarie loved life. She loved the outdoors, travelling with James, having friends & family over, cooking, gardening, singing, sewing, and playing piano. She loved anything that brought people together. DawnMarie was a Registered Nurse and worked for Dr. Patel for many years, the Cape Breton Hospital & Dr. Tom Crawford. She worked as an RN until her MS took its toll on her life. In the last number of years, DawnMarie was a small business owner and took pride in all she had done.
DawnMarie died peacefully beside the love of her life, her husband of 29 years, James. She adored James and their dog Brighten. Her dog was like her baby and he will miss her so much. She was a fisherman’s wife and supported James and prayed for him while he was away at sea. When he came home there was always a home cooked meal and a hug waiting. She was always so happy for him to come home safely.
DawnMarie has left behind many loved ones. She is survived by her husband, James, Mother Shirley, sisters, Marjorie (Paul MacKinnon), Carolyn (Michael Kiley), Noreen (Doug Farrell), and Brother, Michael. She is also survived by James’ Parents, Herman & Bobby Wadden, whom she thought of as her second parents. She is also survived by James’ siblings, Juanita, Herman Joseph, Melissa and Jimmy. Also, many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her father, Michael. DawnMarie and her father had a very special relationship and he adored his little girl. Also, predeceased by her Auntie J whom she thought of as a grandmother.
