Theresa Curry, 91, passed away peace­fully at home, in Reno, Ne­vada on April 19, 2017.

Theresa was born in Syd­ney, Nova Sco­tia on July 13, 1925 to David and Rose Mur­phy.

She mar­ried John (Jake) Curry in 1947 and moved to Mas­sachusetts in 1963, where they raised their fam­ily be­fore mov­ing west to Cal­i­for­nia. Upon re­tire­ment, they moved to Ari­zona for five years and then re­lo­cated to Reno in 2002 to be around fam­ily.

Theresa is sur­vived by her beloved hus­band of nearly 70 years, John, and their four chil­dren, David (Is­abel) of Rohn­ert Park, CA, Bob (Ce­cilia) of Pe­taluma, CA, Roslyn Hun­lock (Frank) of Reno, NV and Jerry (Nancy) of Sparks, NV; her brother, David Mur­phy of Ed­mon­ton, Al­berta and brother-in-law, Fr. Jerry Curry of Syd­ney. Also sur­vived by eight grand­chil­dren and fif­teen great-grand­chil­dren, as well as many friends.

She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents; sis­ters, Mary and Ellen; and broth­ers, James, Daniel and Peter all of Nova Sco­tia, and grand­son, Frankie.

Theresa was a won­der­ful cook, and loved to en­ter­tain fam­ily and friends when­ever pos­si­ble. She had a great sense of hu­mor, was an avid hockey and base­ball fan, loved to travel, and would never pass up a good game of cards.

The fam­ily wishes to thank Renown Hospice, and the won­der­ful peo­ple of St. Michael’s for their care and sup­port dur­ing this last year.
