Four Glace Bay men fac­ing va­ri­ety of armed rob­bery charges

Four Glace Bay men charged in con­nec­tion with five armed rob­beries have been as­signed dates for bail hear­ings.

The rob­beries oc­curred be­tween April 20 and May 20 in Glace Bay, Syd­ney, Antigonish, Bi­ble Hill and Lower Sackville and tar­geted two con­ve­nience stores and three phar­ma­cies.

It is al­leged that a hand­gun was used in all of the rob­beries.

Bryan Joseph Con­ron, 32, of Con­naught Av­enue, is charged in re­la­tion to all five rob­beries. He is charged with five counts of armed rob­bery and five counts of us­ing a weapon in the com­mis­sion of an offence.

Con­ron is also fac­ing charges of theft over $5,000 and pos­ses­sion of stolen prop­erty over $5,000 in con­nec­tion with the May 8 theft of golf clubs and other equip­ment from the Lin­gan Golf and Coun­try Club in Syd­ney.

He is now sched­uled for a bail hear­ing June 2.

Allen Her­man Brown, 50, of Me­chanic Street, is charged with armed rob­bery and us­ing a weapon in com­mit­ting an offence. He is charged in con­nec­tion with the rob­bery in Lower Sackville.

Brown is sched­uled to ap­pear in Dart­mouth pro­vin­cial court to­day for a bail hear­ing on the charges.

Also charged is Glenn Thomas Perry, 39, of High­land Street. He is charged with armed rob­bery and us­ing a weapon in com­mit­ting an offence in con­nec­tion with the rob­beries in Syd­ney and Glace Bay. He is also fac­ing a sin­gle count of pos­ses­sion of stolen prop­erty over $5,000, golf clubs and other equip­ment.

He is sched­uled to have a bail hear­ing June 5.

The fourth ac­cused is Ge­orge Thomas MacIsaac, 56, of Main Street, who is charged with two counts of armed rob­bery and two counts of us­ing a weapon in com­mit­ting an offence. He is charged in con­nec­tion with the in­ci­dents in Antigonish and Bi­ble Hill.

His bail hear­ing was pre­vi­ously sched­uled for June 8.
