Bail hearing dates assigned
Four Glace Bay men facing variety of armed robbery charges
Four Glace Bay men charged in connection with five armed robberies have been assigned dates for bail hearings.
The robberies occurred between April 20 and May 20 in Glace Bay, Sydney, Antigonish, Bible Hill and Lower Sackville and targeted two convenience stores and three pharmacies.
It is alleged that a handgun was used in all of the robberies.
Bryan Joseph Conron, 32, of Connaught Avenue, is charged in relation to all five robberies. He is charged with five counts of armed robbery and five counts of using a weapon in the commission of an offence.
Conron is also facing charges of theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property over $5,000 in connection with the May 8 theft of golf clubs and other equipment from the Lingan Golf and Country Club in Sydney.
He is now scheduled for a bail hearing June 2.
Allen Herman Brown, 50, of Mechanic Street, is charged with armed robbery and using a weapon in committing an offence. He is charged in connection with the robbery in Lower Sackville.
Brown is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court today for a bail hearing on the charges.
Also charged is Glenn Thomas Perry, 39, of Highland Street. He is charged with armed robbery and using a weapon in committing an offence in connection with the robberies in Sydney and Glace Bay. He is also facing a single count of possession of stolen property over $5,000, golf clubs and other equipment.
He is scheduled to have a bail hearing June 5.
The fourth accused is George Thomas MacIsaac, 56, of Main Street, who is charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of using a weapon in committing an offence. He is charged in connection with the incidents in Antigonish and Bible Hill.
His bail hearing was previously scheduled for June 8.
