SYDNEY — Nova Scotia Grade 4 students are getting two free nights in one of 20 provincial camping parks. Last spring, a program was launched called the “Grade 4st Outdoor Program” and it invites students and their families to go camping.

Grade 4 students will be given a package with a nature passport to encourage families to explore parks or outdoor spaces and a campsite coupon for two free nights in any of the camping parks.

Annika Sharpe, a Grade 4 student at John W. MacLeod Fleming Tower School in Halifax is one who will get this package. “I love camping with my family,” she said in a press release. “Camping is great because I like being outdoors and in new surroundings and meeting new people.”

A Learn2Camp program is also being held by Scouts Canada as another way to promote camping. It will be held ay Blomidon Provincial Park in Annapolis Valley on July 29 and 30.
