A com­ing of age kitchen party pro­duc­tion at Ship’s Com­pany The­atre

PARRSBORO — A Heist pro­duc­tion named “New Water­ford Boy: A Ceilidh” is com­ing alive for two shows only at the Ship’s Com­pany The­atre in Parrsboro, Cum­ber­land County.

The show touches on iden­tity, cul­ture, up­bring­ing, com­ing of age and com­ing home. Richie Wil­cox, the writer and star of the show, uses tra­di­tional Cape Bre­ton mu­sic in a kitchen party style to bring this pro­duc­tion to­gether. Wil­cox found his first rise in fame when he be­came a fi­nal­ist on the first Cana­dian Idol tele­vi­sion show. “New Water­ford Boy: A Ceilidh” runs Wed­nes­day and Thurs­day at 8 p.m.. and fea­tures Wil­cox, Aaron Col­lier, Lynn MacIn­tyre, Sarah Richard­son and Brian Tal­bot.
