New Water­ford ac­cused re­leased on con­di­tions

SYD­NEY — A New Water­ford man has been re­leased on con­di­tions af­ter be­ing charged with drug of­fences.

David Craig Morin, 43, of Hee­lan Street, is charged with five counts of pos­ses­sion for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing. The drugs in­volved are co­caine, mar­i­juana, hashish, Ri­talin and shat­ter (a highly con­cen­trated mar­i­juana oil). Morin was ar­rested at his home in New Water­ford af­ter Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Po­lice ex­e­cuted a war­rant.

Morin posted $10,000 in cash bail to se­cure his re­lease and must ad­here to sev­eral con­di­tions. The con­di­tions in­clude ab­stain­ing from alcohol and drugs not pre­scribed him by a physi­cian, he is to re­port, by phone, once a week to re­gional po­lice and is not al­lowed to pos­sess a cell­phone or pager.

He is now to en­ter pleas to the charges Aug. 30.
