Bail hearing set for Sydney Mines woman on murder charge
SYDNEY — A Sydney Mines woman charged with seconddegree murder in relation to the death of her former partner is to return to Supreme Court next week for a bail hearing.
Kimberly Ann O’Dea, 35, of Oxford Avenue, is charged with second-degree murder and criminal negligence causing death.
The charges were filed after a July 14 incident in which Dana Marie Jessome, 28, of McKean Street, Sydney Mines, was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Oxford Avenue in Sydney Mines.
The incident occurred at 7 a.m. and police allege it was O’Dea who was the driver of the vehicle that struck Jessome. O’Dea, who continues to be on remand, is now scheduled to have a bail hearing Aug. 11.
