Sentence imposed on theft and breach offences
SYDNEY — A Sydney Mines man has been sentenced on charges of theft and breaching court orders and is to return to court in November for a trial on other charges. Shaun Alan Mitchelitis, 31, pleaded guilty to four counts of breaching court orders and a single count of theft.
He was credited with serving 150 days on remand and must now complete a two-year probation period. Among the conditions of his probation, Mitchelitis is not allowed to possess or consumer alcohol or drugs not prescribed him by a physician. He is also not allowed in any liquor store in Nova Scotia and must pay restitution in the amount of $164.97.
Mitchelitis is now to return to provincial court in November to stand trial on unrelated offences that include drug trafficking.
