Plea date set for New Haven man on assault and weapon offences
SYDNEY — A 24-year-old Victoria County man is to return to provincial court later this month to enter pleas on weapon and assault charges. Kyle Granter of New Haven is charged with using a firearm in committing an offence (uttering a threat), careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, assault, careless storage of a firearm, unlawful confinement and two counts of uttering threats. The weapon involved is a .20-gauge shotgun. The offences are alleged to have occurred between March and July in New Haven. Granter has been released on a host of conditions that include he have no contact with the male and female complainants in the case, he report by phone, once a week, to RCMP, he stay out of Neils Harbour, and surrenders all firearm certificates. He is also to live in Gabarus.
Granter is now scheduled to enter pleas Aug. 29.
