Saskatoon video game company partners with Chinese firm
SASKATOON - A Chinese video game publishing company, Z-Play, has bought 70 per cent of Saskatoon’s Noodlecake Studios in a $6.3-million deal. Noodlecake officials say they will use the money and new partnership to design more games and enter the Chinese market.
CEO Jordan Schidlowsky says China is the biggest market in the world for mobile gaming, but it’s hard to get into the market unless you have a partnership. He says the Chinese government has strict restrictions on foreign companies. Noodlecake Studios are seven-year-old mobile game developers.
