It is with heavy hearts that we the fam­ily an­nounce the pass­ing of our father, grand­fa­ther, great- grand­fa­ther, brother, un­cle and friend, Butch Gaigneur, age 78, on Au­gust 2, 2017 at the Glace Bay Health­care Com­plex, Glace Bay; sur­rounded by his lov­ing fam­ily. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Ed­ward and Laura (Tay­lor) Gaigneur.

Butch worked at var­i­ous jobs through­out the years, his last be­ing with LeBlanc’s Trans­fer be­fore re­tir­ing.

He en­joyed the great things in life, hunt­ing and fish­ing, gar­den­ing, tin­ker­ing in the yard, Sun­day morn­ing vis­its with Ge­orge, af­ter­noon drives with Frances, many fam­ily gath­er­ings, and en­joy­ing a cold beer.

Butch is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife and best friend of 50 years, Frances (MacMullen); his six chil­dren, Dick (Win­nie), Deb­bie (Lester), Mar­garet, Ed­die, John and Michael (Judy); his 13 won­der­ful grand­chil­dren; his five pre­cious great-grand­chil­dren; brother, Peter (Hen­ri­etta); sis­ter, Di­ane (Mickey) as well as sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be held Mon­day, Au­gust 7, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. The fu­neral ser­vice will take place 11 a.m. Tues­day, Au­gust 8, 2017 with Rev. Carol Gil­lard of­fi­ci­at­ing at T.J. Tracey Cre­ma­tion and Burial Spe­cial­ists, 370 Re­serve St., Glace Bay, NS 902-849-4199. Burial to fol­low at For­est Haven Memo­rial Gar­dens.
