Big Bras d’Or

On Au­gust 5, 2017 Tena Alderson, lov­ing wife to Daniel ‘Danny’ LeBlanc and mother to Tyler (So­phie) and Ni­cole (Frazer) LeBlanc, passed away sur­rounded by fam­ily at home in Big Bras d’Or.

A won­der­ful and de­voted mother, and re­cent grand­mother, she ded­i­cated her life to her chil­dren, hus­band and fam­ily. She loved the out­doors and was al­ways one to help some­one in need.

Grow­ing up in Lit­tle Bras d’Or, Tena met Danny at his birthday party and they then spent the fol­low­ing 42 years by each other’s side. Tena and Danny raised two won­der­ful chil­dren, Tyler and Ni­cole and they re­cently be­came grand­par­ents to Hunter Vin­cent Tay­lor Note­wor­thy on Au­gust 3, 2017.

Born in Syd­ney Mines on De­cem­ber 24, 1956, daugh­ter of Mary Jenk­ins, and sur­vived by sis­ters, Louise (Bill), Deb­bie (Tommy); broth­ers, Glen (Sherry), Lester (Linda) and Arnold, and broth­ers and sis­tersin-law, Mau­rice (Christina), Cathy (Mau­rice), Frankie (Ona), Lewis (Dawn), Donnie (Janet), Art (Linda), Pa­tri­cia, Gary (Deb­bie), Theresa (Roy).

Tena was pre­de­ceased by lov­ing fa­ther in-law, Mau­rice (Lor­raine); brother in-law, Darren, and sis­ter-in-law, Tina (John).

Tena was the niece of Donna (Jimmy) Brown, a car­ing aunt to her neph­ews and nieces, and a loyal friend to Betty LeBlanc, Elaine Har­ri­etha, Gor­don Clark and many oth­ers.

Cre­ma­tion is tak­ing place, and a cel­e­bra­tion of Tena’s life will be held Wed­nes­day Au­gust 9, 2017 at St Joseph’s Church, Bras d’Or at 10:30 a.m., with Fr. Peter McLeod of­fi­ci­at­ing.
