Don­ald ‘Ted’ Budden, age 71, passed away on Mon­day, Au­gust 7, 2017 at the Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Hos­pi­tal, Syd­ney.

Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Gor­don and Margie (Mac­Don­ald) Budden. Don­ald worked for Devco Train­ing Dept., teach­ing first aid and CPR un­til he re­tired in 1995. He was also one of the founders of the In­dus­trial Am­putees As­so­ci­a­tion in the early 1970’s. Don­ald was also a mem­ber of St. John Am­bu­lance and the Loch Lomond Fire Dept. for many years.

He is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife, Romona (Au­coin) Budden; son, Mark (Nancy); daugh­ter, Julianne (Rod­die) MacNeil; sis­ters, Ave Ron­gone and Mickey (Chris) Cald­well, and broth­ers, John (Corinne), Gordie (Janet), Lorne (Pauline) and Billy.

Also sur­viv­ing are Don­ald’s, daugh­ter-in-law, Dar­lene Budden; broth­ers-in-law, Mike (Marie) Au­coin, Blaine Au­coin and Gor­don Poth; eight grand­chil­dren; six great grand­chil­dren, and nu­mer­ous nieces and neph­ews.

Be­sides his par­ents, Don­ald was pre­de­ceased by his son, Don­ald; brother, Brian; brother-in-law, Ed Ron­gone; sis­ter-in-law, Geri Poth; mother and fa­ther-in-law, Joe and Dell Au­coin, and a nephew, Michael Au­coin.

Cre­ma­tion has taken place. Vis­i­ta­tion will be held on Thurs­day, Au­gust 10 from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGil­livray Fu­neral Home, 16 Re­serve St., Glace Bay. The Fu­neral Mass, of­fi­ci­ated by Fr. Dan Boudreau is Fri­day at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Re­serve Mines fol­lowed by in­ter­ment in the parish ceme­tery. All are in­vited to join the fam­ily for a re­cep­tion at the Re­serve Mines Pen­sion­ers Club.
