WHITE, Anne (MacNeil)

Cape Breton Post - - Obituaries -

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Anne White, of Big Pond, on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at home.

Anne will forever be remembered for her wry sense of humour, her creative and artistic nature and her indomitable spirit and strength of character.

Anne was predeceased by her best friend and husband, Gerald.

She was the daughter of the late Neil J and Catherine (Renee) MacNeil and the daughter-inlaw of the late Cornelius and Margaret (McNamara) White.

She is survived by her daughters, Madeline and Vanessa (Ryan), as well as her grandsons, Killian, Cowen and Cade.

Anne was the sister of Roseanne (David), Malcolm (Ruth), Mary (John), Cathy (Don), Rita, Neil (Elizabeth), Clem; as well as the sister-inlaw of Lloyd (Christie), Con (Shirley), Jean (Greg), Melvin, Fred (Jean), Marlene (Jeff), Michelle and Rose. Anne always had a special connection with her nieces and nephews, in recent years, Michelle, Wade and Angela were particularly close to her.

Although we feel it was a life ended too soon, it was one filled with family, friends, laughter, love and more than a few cups of tea.

There will be a celebration of Anne’s life on Friday, August 11 from 6:30 until 9 at Rita’s Tearoom. It is a last visit, not a visitation, and family and friends are invited to stop in for tea and cake.
