Government should explain university funding

Cape Breton Post - - Editorial -

Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil must explain his decision not to help Cape Breton University, while giving $10.5 million in additional funding to Acadia University last year.

It’s not right and Cape Bretoners deserves better.

Our universities have been facing challenges because of the Liberals refusal to invest in our young people’s education. Tuition fees at Cape Breton University have skyrocketed while CBU has been forced to make cuts to various programs.

Meanwhile, the Liberals kept secret more than $10 million in unbudgeted support given to Acadia.

The premier needs to stop picking favourites and ensure our young people have access to the education they need.
