Large num­ber of graphic nov­els stolen from book­store

SYDNEY — Cape Bre­ton Crime Stop­pers is ask­ing for the pub­lic’s help to solve an in­ci­dent of shoplift­ing at the Mayflower Mall in Sydney.

On July 21, Cape Bre­ton Re­gional Po­lice re­sponded to an in­ci­dent of shoplift­ing at Coles/Indigo Book­store in Mayflower Mall. At 2:30 p.m., a woman was seen on video sur­veil­lance plac­ing prod­ucts from the graphic nov­els sec­tion in her tote bag. She then left the mall and was wit­nessed get­ting into a four­door Pon­tiac Grand Am or Grand Prix.

The woman is de­scribed as hav­ing brown, shoul­der-length hair. At the time of the in­ci­dent she was wear­ing a pink and black striped top with white sun­glasses on her head. The store has re­cently suf­fered large prod­uct loss and staff be­lieve items are be­ing resold lo­cally. Any­one with in­for­ma­tion is asked to call po­lice at 902-563-5151.
