Audition call for tiny dancer
GLACE BAY — The cast of the Savoy Theatre’s 2017 production of “The Nutcracker” is one small dancer away from being ready to begin rehearsals for the 125-year-old ballet. Directors of the third-annual show at the Savoy in Glace Bay will hold a one-time audition in hopes of finding “one tiny dancer” with a stage age of between five and seven years. Dancers with a minimum of one year of ballet classes are invited to try out for the role at Northside Dance Unlimited, 9 Church St., Florence, Thursday from 6-7 p.m.
Those auditioning must wear a dark leotard or bodysuit, pink tights and ballet shoes and hair must be off the face in a tight ballet bun.
The successful dancer must also be available for weekly rehearsals starting in September in Florence and for the actual show dates at the Savoy in December.
